This year as part of International Women’s Day I wrote this blog about the importance of our self-care as women along with a Free Self-Care Checklist. If you are not sure what this looks like then read my blog which has examples of my own small and simple, self- care practices. Often we are taught self-care is selfish. However, I am a firm believer that when we look after ourselves, we have more energy to give to others, without heading into the all too popular, burnout.
As a way to celebrate this with you, I’d like to offer you this self-care checklist. This checklist will help you to consider and track your self-care when you feel you need to increase it. It will help you to have more of a focus towards your own self-care. The checklist is part of our Emotional balance and self Care Online Yoga course.
This Self Care checklist has been designed for you to ensure that your self-care remains a top priority. To use simply tune into what you need and add it to the list. Consider how often you’d like to include this in your week, whether daily, once twice etc.
At the end of each day take a minute to go through and tick off what you have included and not included. This list will help you identify the parts of self-care you may avoid or miss out. You can then use your yoga practice, the meditations or relaxations to explore this further and remove the block which is holding you back.
I’d recommend starting with what feels like a fairly easy list and adding in more of what you’d like to do week by week. For example, if you want to reduce your sugar intake maybe start with one or two days without sugar, so you experience success in your goal and build up in the weeks and months to come.
If you feel ready to take your self-care a step further take a look at our Live Personal Online Yoga Teaching Support Programme which starts on the 21st March 2018. It’s a month long programme where I am personally supporting those who join to set up their home yoga practice in a way that truly works for them.
