My Favourite Online Classes

Dear Lovely Yogis,

As its coming to the end of the year I’ve been reviewing all that I have achieved over this last year and looked back with such joy as I went through all the classes that have been created for our Online Annual Subscription.

I thought it would be lovely to share my favourite Yoga Classes as regular posts over the next few weeks so I can give you even more ways to use your Annual Subscription as well as the Free Yoga and Meditation Classes. As we have been filming I realised that there are already so many amazing classes on here that I know about because I’ve put them together. However as a website user you may not be aware as I know not many of us have the time to have a good in depth look so I’m going to do it for you.

As I was reviewing the classes I really did feel very proud of what I (and my lovely Al) have created. I went through all the courses on the website and decided to choose two classes from all of the 6 courses on the website and tell you why I love them so hopefully you can love them too.

What I suggest you do is have a look at the courses and get to know them so you know which courses suit what you need and you can go directly to them. There is a facility to mark you have completed each lesson so you can see which lessons you have already done (you can do them as many times as you wish by the way).

My lesson of choice for today is the Creating Strength and Flexibility in your spine.

It is Lesson 2 in the Spinal care Course and is about an hour in length. I particularly like this class when I feel I need to loosen my spine up a little. Whether I’ve been moving in a way that has caused tension in my back, I’ve slept funny or after a strong swim training session. It’s a lovely flowing class that also lets you gradually move into a more connected space.

This lesson is designed aid spinal flexibility, relieving tension in the spine and digestive tract whilst toning your abdominals and your back muscles. In both of these postures the use of your core muscles (practised in lesson 1) aids the strengthening of your back whilst the gentle movements help you create flexibility. A good tip is to imagine someone is walking their index and middle fingers slowly up your spine and you are trying to move one section of vertabrae at a time.

The key postures for the class are:

Cat Posture (Majarasana)

Strengthen/tones– back and abdominals

Creates flexibility– Amazing spinal flexibility and relieves tension in the spine and digestive tract

Emotional/spiritual aspects– allows a beautiful flow of free pranic energy through the whole spine.

Balancing for your whole chakra system

Tiger Posture (Vyaghrasana) The two apects of the posture are shown in the pictures.

Strengthen/tones- lower back, abdominals, and gluteal muscles

Creates flexibility- Flexion and extension of the entire length of your  spine

Emotional/spiritual aspects-Energy travels along your chakra centres from the spleenic centre all way to your third eye. This in turn clears your energy releasing stuck energy along your spine

If you want to try our spinal classes and truly improve your spinal health, why not try our totally risk-free Monthly Membership for only US$1 for your first month and try our Spinal Flexibility in 4 easy Movements lesson in the “Short on Time’ Classes section.

So I invite you to enjoy either lesson and allow your spine to become even happier and healthy as you allow yourself to relax for a while in the build up to the busiest time of the year.

Our next blog will be about our lovely Spinal meditation which you can add onto any yoga class but more about that later.

Namaste
